PETALING JAYA: Five women were arrested by police in Tawau, Sabah, after allegedly assaulting a single mother accused of having an affair with one of the suspects’ husband.
The five suspects included a mother and daughter, Sabah’s Daily Express reported, adding that the incident occurred at a hotel car park on Monday.
The victim, 36, lodged a police report yesterday afternoon.
Tawau police chief Jasmin Hussin said the victim was about to enter her car at the car park when she noticed that all four tyres had been punctured.
“The victim was then approached by five women, whom she did not know, who attacked her all of a sudden, causing injuries on her face as well as the back and left side of her head,” he said.
The victim also claimed that her jewellery worth RM4,000 was missing and that her attackers alleged that she was a homewrecker.
Jasmin said the five suspects have been remanded to assist in the investigation under Sections 148 and 427 of the Penal Code for rioting with a weapon and mischief. - FMT
