PETALING JAYA: Police have launched an investigation after a 25-year-old man disturbed worshippers at a mosque in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, and also damaged two items belonging to the mosque.
Brickfields police chief Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said a police report was lodged over a viral video of the incident, which occurred at 5.40am yesterday.
The complainant said the suspect had disturbed congregants at the mosque and damaged a television and a chair.
“The suspect has had mental health issues since April 2022 and was last treated at the University Malaya Medical Centre on Jan 16, 2023. He has not received any follow-up treatment since then.
“Police have tracked down the suspect for further investigation under Section 427 of the Penal Code for causing mischief,” he said in a statement. - FMT
