Free management training is to be provided to Indian entrepreneurs, in a government initiative in collaboration with Tekun Nasional, the entrepreneur development agency.
The programme will first involve Indian entrepreneurs in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur who previously received financing from Tekun.
The entrepreneurs will also be taught business and audit management, social media strategies as well as effective financial management, said R Ramanan, the deputy minister of entrepreneur development and cooperatives.
“This is part of the government’s commitment to support the Indian community by ensuring their businesses are managed effectively and sustainably,” he said, Bernama reported.
Ramanan said Tekun has channelled RM8.22 million to about 355 Indian entrepreneurs so far under a financing scheme dedicated for the community.
Some RM100 million in financing has been allocated this year under the scheme, the highest amount since it was introduced in 2007. - FMT
