Health minister Dzulkefly Ahmad says his ministry is reviewing the online sale of equipment used by healthcare staff, among others.

He said the ministry would not compromise on anything that could jeopardise patient safety.
“We want to get to the bottom of this. We are reviewing all aspects affecting security (including the online sale of equipment used by healthcare staff),” Bernama quoted him as telling reporters in Putrajaya today.
Earlier this month, a man allegedly posed as an assistant medical officer at Tuanku Fauziah Hospital in Kangar, Perlis.
Separately, Dzulkefly said the new ePlacement system for medical officers is almost ready for activation.
“The system and its algorithm have all been reviewed. I was informed by the division responsible that it can be implemented soon,” he said.
The ministry previously said the current ePlacement system, which operates on a first come, first served basis, would be replaced with a more transparent, fair and merit-based system. - FMT
