Alan Dennis Lim Sytin, 51, accused of masterminding the murder of his brother, Dominic, was handed over to the Philippine police after arriving at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 11.20pm on Friday, the Manila Bulletin reported.
Alan, who had a 10 million Philippine peso (RM772,200) bounty on his head, was arrested in an operation at the Cobra Rugby Club at Lorong Utara here on March 22.
Upon his arrival, he was immediately served with an arrest warrant for murder issued by the Manila High Court, which denied him bail.
The Philippine police’s regional office had said previously that Alan’s arrest was carried out with the aid of their Malaysian counterparts after he failed to present valid travel documents.
It is unclear how long he had been in Malaysia before his arrest.
Philippine police’s regional director Jean Fajardo commended the collaboration between the two countries’ law enforcement agencies, adding that this case showed “no fugitive is beyond the reach of justice when nations unite against crime”.
Dominic was shot and killed on Nov 28, 2018, outside a hotel in Subic Bay Freeport.
Edgardo Luib, the man who was arrested and convicted for the murder, later implicated Alan as the mastermind behind the killing.
The Philippine police said another alleged accomplice in the murder, Edrian Rementilla, was arrested in Iligan City on March 22. - FMT
