PETALING JAYA
Nearly 2,000 people have been forced to flee their homes in Selangor, Sabah and Johor because of floods.

The welfare department’s InfoBencana portal reported that Selangor is the worst-hit, with 1,391 victims in Klang, Shah Alam and Subang Jaya relocated to eight relief centres as of 10pm.

Parts of Selangor had been hit by floods following continuous heavy rain early this morning.

In Nabawan, Sabah, 263 people have been evacuated from their homes as of 8pm because of flooding.

Bernama quoted the state disaster management secretariat as saying the evacuees have been relocated to four relief centres.

Sabah’s Sook district has also been hit by flooding although no relief centres have been opened so far. Both Nabawan and Sook are in the interior.

Meanwhile, there are 203 evacuees in Batu Pahat, Johor, who have been relocated to a relief centre. - FMT
