Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa said they are also waiting for the full medical report on the injuries sustained by Za’imuddin Azlan.
“The investigation paper has been referred to the AGC but it has yet to be returned to us,” Rusdi told reporters here today.
On Monday, Rusdi said police had received a preliminary medical report from the hospital which confirmed that Za’imuddin, 28, suffered a fractured skull and soft tissue injuries.
Numerous investigation papers under the Penal Code have been opened in connection with this case, namely for obstructing a public servant from carrying out his duties, criminal intimidation and for intentionally causing injury.
The case is also being investigated for improper use of network facilities.
Previously, a doctor in private practice said Za’imuddin suffered from a type of spinal injury.
In March, a video of DBKL enforcement officers getting into a scuffle with Za’imuddin went viral. It was reported that Za’imuddin did not have a trading licence.
DBKL claimed that Za’imuddin had refused to comply with instructions and acted aggressively despite three warnings and even pushed one of the officers.
Za’imuddin denied that he was warned three times before the altercation with the officers.
On a separate matter, Rusdi said Kuala Lumpur police and the Bukit Aman narcotics crime investigation department had crippled a drug syndicate planning to transport methamphetamine weighing 104kg to Sarawak.
Police raided two hotel rooms at Jalan Kuchai Lama on April 5 and arrested three Sarawakian men, aged between 33 and 44.
They also seized 70 plastic bags containing 72.8kg of meth in the first room and found another 31.2kg of meth in the second room.
An investigation found that they were preparing to send the drugs through an air courier from KLIA Terminal 2 to Miri.
The drugs had a street value of RM3.33 million.
The syndicate had been active since January. The three men have been remanded for seven days until tomorrow. - FMT
