Rawang assemblyperson Chua Wei Kiat has claimed that an MIC division chief has joined PKR in an attempt to subvert party polls at the division level.
Chua - who is contesting for the Selayang division chief post - said the MIC leader had registered as a member in October 2024.
He said the move must have been intentional as registering for PKR membership requires identification verification, including uploading photos of an applicant's MyKad followed by a live photo.
Malaysiakini is withholding the leader's name pending a response.

"This is not an isolated case," Chua claimed, saying that it is unknown how many active MIC members have joined PKR.
"This is seen as a coordinated attempt to infiltrate PKR for the purpose of influencing the Selayang division election this year.
"Such interference can't be taken lightly as it involves an outside party taking advantage of our internal systems," he added.
Chua has lodged a police report over the matter and will file official complaints with the PKR and MIC leadership for further action. - Mkini
