PETALING JAYA:
A key witness has been identified in the police investigation into a death threat made against Bersatu Youth executive council member Na’im Brundage three days ago.

“The witness will be summoned to have his statement taken and we believe it will be vital in tracking down the suspect as well as determining the motive,” Dang Wangi police chief Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said in a statement.

He said two other witnesses have been questioned.

Sulizmie said that while the police were still trying to ascertain the suspect’s identity, initial investigation revealed that the suspect is not known to Na’im.

The case has been classified as one of criminal intimidation.

Na’im filed a report on Wednesday saying he received a death threat from an unknown person who also threatened to splash acid on him, although no reason was disclosed.

He said the threats could be politically motivated as he was active in politics and often aired his views on social media.

Na’im left Bersatu for Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) in 2022, joining former minister Zuraida Kamaruddin. He rejoined Bersatu in November after being sacked from PBM along with 12 others, including Zuraida. - FMT
