Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and the government must do some introspection after the “Turun Anwar” rally in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, said veteran PKR lawmaker Hassan Karim.
In a poem, Hassan said there must be a reason why 25,000 people turned up for the rally.
"We are not always right, our promises demanded, maybe there is something we have betrayed.
"If not, why would the rakyat shout so many times, that they have been betrayed.
"The rakyat is never wrong, the forgetful ones are we elites who are now in power," said the Pasir Gudang MP.

The "Turun Anwar" rally, organised by Perikatan Nasional, demanded Anwar resign over various matters, including alleged failure to arrest increasing cost of living and improving the economy.
Hassan said there is still time for the government to right what is wrong, and to live up to the ideals they had when they were in the opposition.
Anwar yesterday said the government was not perfect but is willing to improve.
"I’m not saying what we’ve done is perfect, but we constantly listen and make adjustments where needed," Bernama quoted him as saying.
He also said that any criticism against the government must be based on facts.
