Mara chairperson Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki has sent a letter of demand to Azri Wan Deris, popularly known as Papagomo, after the influencer accused him of misappropriating funds.
The Umno leader is seeking a retraction from Azri and a public apology, among others.
Taking to Facebook, Asyraf said his team of lawyers sent the legal notice to Azri at his residence earlier today.

“Enough of this politics of hate and cheap slanders. We must teach people about taking responsibility for their actions and words.
“Even if you’re unafraid of worldly punishment, I hope you will feel an ounce of fear over Allah’s punishment due to slander. See you in court,” the Umno secretary-general said.
Tender process, cattle allegations
On July 6, Asyraf decried the accusations levelled against him and vowed to sue Azri for RM1 million.
Azri reportedly accused Asyraf of distributing food catering tenders and projects related to Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) to Umno division heads, in addition to claiming that Asyraf used Mara funds to purchase cattle in Gerik.
“As Mara chairperson, neither do I have the power nor attend any procurement meetings as I don’t have executive powers.
“But as the chairperson, I work with other council members to tighten the processes to ensure there is no misappropriation in the tender process.
“And for everyone’s information, the cattle used for sacrifice were donated by individuals and friends,” Asyraf added. - FMT
