SABAH POLLS | Polling centres are open, and voting is underway for the Sabah election.
A total of 73 seats are up for grabs, with 37 needed to form a government.
At the heart of the election is a battle between those aligned to Putrajaya, like Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), BN, and Pakatan Harapan, and parties positioning themselves as state rights proponents like Warisan, Upko, and Star.
GRS, the incumbent ruling coalition, is also seeking to diminish the influence of its former ally BN, while Perikatan Nasional is looking to claw back influence in the state after GRS defected from the coalition in 2022.
We will be reporting the results from time to time until polling closes at 6pm.
