KUALA LUMPUR: Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah missed out on becoming the first Malaysian women's doubles pair to reach the All England final after losing their semi-final clash in Birmingham on Saturday.
The world No. 2 were defeated 21-17, 21-18 by South Korea's world No. 4 Baek Ha Na-Lee So Hee in the Super 1000 event.
It was the Malaysians' fourth defeat to the Koreans in seven meetings.

Pearly-Thinaah were only the second Malaysian pair to reach the semi-finals of the 127-year-old tournament in 19 years, following Wong Pei Tty-Chin Ee Hui's 2007 run.
However, they were unable to secure a spot in the title showdown of the world's oldest badminton tournament. - NST
