PARLIAMENT Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia will make a ruling on whether questions relating to the RM2.6 billion donation scandal is sub judice, said deputy speaker Ronald Kiandee.
"I had asked the speaker for advice on whether to allow Pengerang (Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Azalina Othman Said) to answer as she wants to (that it is sub judice).
"He wishes to inform that this matter will not be answered until his decision on Monday," Ronald told the Dewan Rakyat today.
He said this after Gobind Singh Deo (DAP-Puchong) raised a point of order citing Standing Order 36(2) that only the speaker can decide if a matter is sub judice.
Gobind protested this, and demanded a ruling immediately, prompting Ronald to say that "to be on the safe side", the matter is sub judice.
This triggered a ruckus in the House, with opposition lawmakers refusing to accept the decision.
As the bickering went on, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom stood up to read out his wrap of the debate on the Agong's speech, ignoring the shouting match.
