IGP: MACC requests Interpol red notice on Muhyiddin's son-in-law

The MACC has asked for police to put out an Interpol red notice for two individuals who are wanted to assist in investigations on a migrant worker identification project.

This is for former premier Muhyiddin Yassin's son-in-law Adlan Berhan, and lawyer Mansoor Saat, both of whom are out of the country.

“We will work on whatever information we have so far. The request (from the MACC) was only made verbally,” Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain was quoted as saying by FMT today.

The anti-graft agency is seeking Adlan and Mansoor - who left Malaysia in May - to facilitate investigations into a project regarding the registration and storage of biometric information for foreign workers.

MACC chief Azam Baki previously told Malaysiakini that the graft busters had attempted to secure Adlan’s cooperation since June to no avail.

Adlan's lawyer, however, said that his client was overseas on business, and would be willing to return if elements of "threats and persecution" against him are removed.

In February, Muhyiddin denied allegations that Adlan or any of his family members were involved in Iris Corporation Bhd, which won the tender for the National Integrated Immigration System.

The contract was awarded in March 2021 and was valued at RM1.2 billion.

Muhyiddin said he was not involved in the award of the project because the Finance Ministry had handled it through an open tender. - Mkini
