Operator of crashed aircraft fully cooperating with probe

PETALING JAYA: The operator of the light aircraft which crashed in Selangor earlier today says it will fully cooperate with the authorities investigating the incident.

“We will give our full commitment and cooperation to the authorities in the investigation related to the aircraft,” Jet Valet Sdn Bhd said in a statement.

The operator confirmed that it had received a report on an aircraft belonging to the company crashing on the Guthrie Corridor Expressway near Elmina, Selangor.

Jet Valet said it was currently unable to confirm any further details on the crash pending confirmation from the authorities.

“All information and latest developments of the case will be communicated from time to time,” Jet Valet added.

The light aircraft, a Beechcraft Model 390, was travelling from the Langkawi International Airport to Subang Airport before it crashed at around 2.50pm.

The deceased included eight people who were on board the aircraft, as well as the driver of a car and a motorcyclist who were hit by the crashing plane.

Following the incident, the entry and exit routes to the Elmina interchange from the Guthrie Corridor Expressway have been temporarily closed. - FMT
