Perikatan Nasional is expecting a leadership reshuffle after its component parties agreed to form a committee to assess organisational improvements.
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the move to improve PN's structure will be implemented comprehensively.
“We (PAS) have several proposals for improvements to PN as a whole.
“The (PN) supreme council has agreed to form a committee to re-evaluate,” he told Malaysiakini in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Tuan Ibrahim (above), who is part of the PN supreme council, said evaluations will include potential amendments to the coalition's constitution and the establishment of a presidential council.
PN treasurer-general post
The Kubang Kerian MP revealed this after being asked whether PAS had proposed a candidate to replace Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar who previously resigned as PN treasurer-general.
He said the Islamist party has yet to name Samsuri's successor following the proposal to improve the coalition.
In January, the Islamist party had indicated it was ready to propose a candidate for the post.

Samsuri had stepped down from his post the day after PN announced its main leadership line-up, which saw former Selangor menteri besar Azmin Ali appointed secretary-general.
Azmin's appointment thus set aside PAS Youth's proposal that the party's secretary-general, Takiyuddin Hassan, be appointed to the position vacated by Hamzah Zainudin.
Hamzah was appointed as PN deputy president and Bersatu deputy president.
Samsuri did not immediately provide reasons for his surprise resignation, saying that he would speak on the matter at the right time.
The Terengganu menteri besar later posted a cryptic message on his social media featuring a quote from American basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
“I try to do the right thing at the right time. They may just be little things, but usually they make the difference between winning and losing,” Samsuri posted on Facebook.
Change of PN leadership
When asked whether there would be changes in PN's leadership structure, Tuan Ibrahim indicated that the proposal was made towards such a direction.
“The committee has agreed to be established with five representatives from each component party.
“I think there is a possibility of (a change in leadership) because the proposal also involves amending the PN constitution,” he said.
However, the former environment and water minister did not elaborate on the extent to which the PN leadership reshuffle would occur. - Mkini
