CHAOTIC EUROPE

 Europe is becoming confused and chaotic.

There was a power blackout for more than 10 hours throughout Spain and Portugal. 

2025 Iberian Peninsula blackout:  On Monday 28 April 2025 a major power blackout occurred across the Iberian Peninsula affecting mainland Portugal and peninsular Spain, where electric power was interrupted for about ten hours in most of the Peninsula and longer in some areas.

They are not saying what is the cause of the blackout but some folks are saying that after Europe banned imports of super cheap and super efficient Russian gas and then bombed the Nordstream gas pipelines, they were forced to crank up 'renewable options' like wind, hydro and solar power  which have obviously suffered some catastrophic failure. Renewables anywhere best serve a standby option because they do not have 'surge' capacity. You cannot simply increase the speed of a wind turbine - if the wind is not blowing. Or crank up solar power on a cloudy day.

German industry is now shutting down - 10,000 workers a month are losing manufacturing jobs. That is 120,000 manufacturing jobs a year - official German figures. Why? Because of the self imposed sanctions against import of super cheap gas from Russia. They dont like the Russians so much they are prepared to cut off their own legs. 

In Austria Survival Lilly says that things are so bad (prices going up, job losses increasing, taxes going up) that the government is thinking up new ways of imposing indirect taxes on the people. The latest in Austria is that just like motor vehicle inspections  they now want private homes in Austria to undergo annual safety inspections - of course the home owners must pay the government for the "inspection".

Despite four months having gone by, Germany has not sworn in a chancellor yet. Now the German chancellor in waiting wants to legally abolish and declare criminal the most popular right wing political party in Germany the AfD or Alternatif fur Deutschland. They are afraid of the AfD.

The French have already sentenced right wing Marine Le Pen the  much-more-popular-than-Macron  opposition leader to jail.

In Romania  far-right  populist Calin Georgescu, who came from nowhere to win the first round of last year's presidential election, has been arrested and is facing criminal proceedings on a series of charges.

Everywhere in Europe the woke-left is using lawfare to arrest and throw in jail or ban altogether what they deem as right-wing politicians and political parties who are gaining more popularity than them. Fascism is ok as long as it is used to arrest right wing politicians. 

The yet to be sworn in (on May 6th) new German chancellor Friedrich Merz  has seen his popularity crash to just 21%. 

April 25, 2025. Why is Germany's next chancellor, Merz, so unpopular?   Chancellor-in-waiting Friedrich Merz and his CDU won Germany's election, yet his personal popularity is low — and getting lower. Most Germans don't trust him, not least because of his approach to the far-right AfD. According to an April poll by Stern magazine, just 21% of respondents consider Merz trustworthy — nine percentage points lower than in August, and down three points from January.

But his arch nemesis the right wing AfD has broken the popularity charts. By  opinion polls the AfD  is now the single most popular political party in Germany.

April 25, 2025. Far-right AfD tops German poll for first time – just weeks after Friedrich Merz’s election win.  The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) has topped a national poll for the first time, prompting the popular Bild newspaper to carry the headline: “AfD breaks the magic barrier”. The poll put the AfD at 26%.

The Germans are now planning (yes they have actually started the process) to declare the AfD a threat to the security of Germany and then abolish the party and even arrest and jail the party members (for belonging to an illegal organisation).

They are stoking up fears that the AfD will become like Adolph Hitler's National Socialists or Nazis of the 1930s. Anti-foreigners, anti-immigration, racist, white supremacist etc.

But they cannot explain how Alicia Weidel the leader of the AfD is a lesbian whose "husband" is a brown-skinned Sri Lankan born woman.  They both live in Switzerland. This does not seem to fit the right wing, white supremacist image of Alicia Weidel which they are trying to paint.

Another big upset has taken place in England last Thursday. The English went for the 2025 local council and mayoral polls. Nigel Farage's Reform Party has turned out the biggest winner. The Reform Party defeated both the Conservatives and Labour at the local councils - a feat that has never happened before in the history of Great Britain. 

And in merry England the Reform Party is way ahead of Labour and the Conservatives in all popularity polls. Keir Starmtrooper the incumbent Labour prime minister also suffers the poorest popularity ratings, worse than Liz "Chucky" Truss, Britain's prime minister for 37 days.

 

• Local council and mayoral elections across England on Thursday 1 May. Also a parliamentary by-election in the Cheshire seat of Runcorn and Helsby.
• Nigel Farage has hailed Reform UK's gains in Thursday's elections as "unprecedented" and "the end of two-party politics". 
• Farage claimed on Saturday: "In post-war Britain, no one has ever beaten both Labour and the Tories in a local election before."
• The party has taken control of 10 local councils, won two mayoral races and added a fifth MP to its ranks in the Runcorn and Helsby by-election.
• Many of these wins came at the expense of the Labour and Conservative parties.

Based on the results of Thursday's local council elections in England the pundits have projected the Reform Party as the most popular political party in Great Britain with possibly 30% voter support nationwide. They project Labour to win only 20% of the vote with the Conservatives way below that at only 15%.

 

The writing is on the wall. The next British prime minister will likely be Nigel Farage. Unless they have him arrested or worse.

Nigel Farage also admires Vladimir Putin's political success  and has said that the EU and NATO 'provoked' the Ukraine war with Russia. Oops! 

Europe is in serious chaos.
