Anwar Ibrahim says the government is mobilising efforts to ensure energy security, including exploring alternative routes to reduce dependence on high-risk passages such as the Strait of Hormuz.

Anwar said this was among the decisions made at the National Economic Action Council meeting he chaired, which examined the latest geopolitical developments, global economic pressures, and security implications arising from the conflict.
He said the government was mobilising efforts to ensure energy security, including diversifying supply sources and exploring alternative routes to reduce dependence on high-risk passages such as the Strait of Hormuz.
“Although we are still in the festive Aidilfitri period, the people’s wellbeing, particularly the cost of living, remains the Madani government’s priority,” Bernama reported him as saying in a Facebook post.
Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said the government would continue to monitor developments in West Asia.
