Negeri Sembilan Umno withdraws support for Aminuddin

 It cites the ongoing crisis involving a bid by four chieftains to remove the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.

PETALING JAYA:

 Negeri Sembilan Umno has withdrawn its support for menteri besar Aminuddin Harun, declaring that all 14 of its assemblymen have lost confidence in him.

The state chapter’s chairman, Jalaluddin Alias, said the decision to retract support for Aminuddin was linked to the ongoing crisis involving four chieftains seeking to remove the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, from his position.

Jalaluddin, the Pertang assemblyman, said he and the 13 others were “saddened and disappointed” by the crisis.

“All 14 Umno-Barisan Nasional assemblymen unanimously declare that we have lost confidence in the menteri besar and his administration,” he said in a press conference.

Jalaluddin also said that Aminuddin should have stepped in to resolve the crisis.

He said the crisis involving the Negeri Sembilan royalty could impact the stability of the state’s administration. - FMT
