KUALA LUMPUR, March 31 — Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin was reprimanded by Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Wan Junaidi Wan Jaafar after calling another MP a stupid devil this morning.

The Kinabatangan MP was asking a follow-up question to the Rural and Regional Development Ministry when M. Kulasegaran (DAP-Ipoh Barat) told him to explain himself for a recent statement that women are bad drivers.

Khalid Samad (PAS-Shah Alam) also got involved in a heated exchange which resulted in Bung Mokhtar calling him a "syaitan bodoh (stupid devil)."

Khalid then asked Wan Junaidi to instruct Bung Mokhtar to retract his statement.

“It takes one to recognise another,” Khalid told the Umno supreme council member.

Wan Junaidi then reprimanded Bung Mokhtar for using coarse words and not adhering to the Standing Orders of the Dewan Rakyat.

“Do not use improper words in the House. If you don’t respect this place, we might as well throw away the Standing Orders,”said Wan Junaidi before Bung Mokhtar eventually withdrew his remark.

On Monday, Bung Mokhtar caused a stir when he blamed women drivers for road accidents, leading to rebukes even from Barisan Nasional colleagues such as Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil. - Malaysian Insider
