ANOTHER EMPTY PROMISE OF BN

THE EMPTY promise of the Barisan Nasional (BN) kept on surfacing all over Sabah now. The promises were never being fulfilled and the hope of the people fallen into pieces. In Sabah there are many promised development projects remained as empty fields, and it is typical like this one in Telipok near the Kota Kinabalu City.

The promised primary school (SK) with 30 classrooms and the secondary school (SMK) with 36 classrooms are huge schools next to each other on a plot of land situated in the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP).
These schools were supposed to be constructed and completed under the program of the 9th Malaysia Plan. Very unfortunately, until today they are still remains as something on the drawing board. The sign board is still standing high after the launching ceremony, and now some parts of the sign board had fallen off.

The Education Ministry has done nothing since the commencement date on July 2009, and until now there is nothing on the ground, The completion date supposed to be on August 2011 is well over. The question is what happened to the approved school projects, and where are the two contractors who were awarded the projects?

The people in Telipok brought the KK MP Hiew King Cheu and Edward Ewol Mujie to visit the empty site where the two huge schools were supposed to be built. They saw only plenty of grass, a broken sign board and nothing on the ground.

The peole said they have been very patient to wait for the completion of the school for the children to study there, but now it seem that their hope has been broken due to the incompletion of the schools. They have to send their children further away to some far away schools. This also cost them time and money.

They said now we are in the Mid-10th Malaysia Plan, they just don’t know when the school projects are going to start work. The Education Ministry doesn’t care about these two schools which is vital to the students and parents in and near the Kampongs along Jalan Korowot.

There are many school children who need these nearby new schools. The people are moving back into the new housing built by the KKIP and it is going to have a large number of students here soon.
The KK MP Hiew said that the Federal Ministry of Education had made the plan and why they did not implemented it to complete the schools. The simple explanation could be that the government has no money to even start the school project.

What will be the other reasons that couldn’t be solved to get the job started after that many years? The government has failed the people again and again and this only telling the people that simply they could not deliver and had failed totally.

Edward Mujie, the Sabah DAP Vice chair on the other hand said that the BN government is good in lies and empty promises, because after the election the promises will automatically became unfulfilled and forgotten. It is dangerous for the people to continue to listen to this type of lies and “Bull-shit”! We want some actions to be taken and not always telling our folks “no problem and we will start work”! This time the people will not believe in BN’s lies and empty promises any more.

  4. The problem here i see is the failure of the contractors to construct and complete these schools. The contractors must be blacklisted. Government ought to find another reliable contractors.

  7. Nampaknya pembangkang mula memutar belitkan mengenai janji yang diberikan oleh Kerajaan kepada rakyat.
