234 Covid-19 vaccination centres set up nationwide

 

Health minister Dzulkefly Ahmad said the available Covid-19 vaccines are effective in protecting against severe complications if infected.

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 234 Covid-19 vaccination centres have been set up in health clinics nationwide to date, says health minister Dzulkefly Ahmad.

He said the health ministry (MoH) would update this information periodically in the event of an increase or change in the number of centres.

“To receive the Covid-19 vaccine, the public can visit the listed centres as walk-ins or schedule appointments using the MySejahtera app, following the reservation procedures established during the previous National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme,” he said in a statement.

“MoH wishes to stress that the uptake of the Covid-19 vaccine is currently voluntary, but it is encouraged, especially for high-risk groups such as the elderly or individuals with comorbidities.”

Dzulkefly said the available Covid-19 vaccines in the country are effective in protecting against severe complications if infected.

He also urged every Malaysian to protect themselves from infection and not transmit the Covid-19 virus to others.

Members of the public are reminded to wash their hands, wear masks, warn others, avoid crowds and maintain a safe distance, especially in confined places. - FMT
