PAS has denied claims on social media that a man caught stealing money from a mosque in Tumpat, Kelantan, yesterday, was a former party youth leader.
PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden said he checked with his state counterpart Kamal Mohamed, who confirmed that the individual shown in the video had never been a party youth chief.
"This has nothing to do with PAS. If he is guilty, he should be punished," FMT quoted Afnan (above) as saying.
Afnan was responding to an X post by pro-government social media influencer @lady_bugg11 who claimed that the caught thief was a former PAS Youth chief.
She has since apologised for the misinformation.
Afnan said PAS was considering legal action against the influencer over the allegation. - Mkini
