It was only days ago the United Nations passed a much watered-down resolution to allow more food and humanitarian aid to be delivered to the long-suffering people of Gaza.
It was greeted with so many hollow victorious cheers by the hypocritical West as if the people of Gaza had finally been saved.
It was a giant fake smoke screen to hide the more dire pressing life and death matters affecting Palestinians.
The resolution for increased aid was passed but no ceasefire of any sort, whether temporary or permanent, was passed.
It does not take a genius to figure out there is no way proper or even perhaps, any aid at all could be delivered in the middle of constant and endless bombings by the Israeli army.
What good, if any, would an increase in aid be to the desperate dying and starving Gaza population if nothing can be delivered with the fierce endless bombings?
Besides approving increased aid to people of Gaza, the US is also at the same time approving endless delivery of bombs and weapons to Israel to continue massive killings of Palestinians.
This is a classic cruel act of hypocrisy the world fails to see or acknowledge.
Instead of the US and the West escorting the food aid convoy to ensure it does reach Gaza safely, they are assembling a team of ships and an army team to escort Israel-owned and bound general goods ships to ensure safe passage to Israel.
For all we know those very ships the West is escorting safely to Israel may contain war-related materials, arms or other luxury goods meant for Israel when the Palestinians are starving to death due to lack of food or being bombed.
As a UN humanitarian officer said, the dying, hungry and sick Palestinians are being denied aid that had been approved by the West, who must surely know the aid cannot be delivered to the victims unless there is a ceasefire.
In the meantime, the world’s second largest shipping company Maersk boasts that a "multi-national task force" will be providing security by escorting ships sending goods and supplies to the well-fed and healthy murderous aggressor in Israel.
And this is happening while Palestinians are starving to death with the approved UN extra aid resolution and remain frustrated without the necessary accompanying resolution for ceasefire which was vetoed by the US.
This is the ultimate act of crime against humanity with the world superpowers allowing the continuous bombardment to continue the killing and also preventing delivery of aid.
This is hypocrisy in motion before the eyes of the world. While the world watches idly in real time on live television, bloodbaths on the killing fields of Gaza continue unabated. - Mkini
