Mara chairperson Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki has issued a reminder against parents who falsified their incomes and claimed to be from the B40 category so their children have a better chance to enrol in the Mara Junior Science College (MRSM).
Taking to Facebook, Asyraf urged such individuals to spare a thought for their own children, studying without any “blessings” because they had taken away the rights of others who are genuinely deserving.
“Please do not falsify (your) income just to be classified as B40 to secure your child’s admission to MRSM.
“Pity (your) children who study without any blessings, having unfairly gained from the rights of other less fortunate individuals,” he said.
The agency’s policy stipulates that 60 percent of MRSM students must come from the B40 group, while the rest are candidates who pass the Ujian Kecenderungan Kemasukan MRSM or UKKM from the M40 and T20 groups.
In his post, Asyraf also engaged with commenters, including those who questioned the initial process to determine a family’s income status.
Among others, he noted there will be parents with no monthly pay slip or others who falsely declared their incomes. - Mkini
