PETALING JAYA: A fruit seller was charged with the murder of a 26-year-old woman today.
Bernama reported that Khoo Choon Heng, 44, was charged with stabbing Koh Chea Ling to death at Jalan Bayu Tinggi in Klang at 1pm on Dec 18.
Khoo nodded after the charge was read out to him at the Klang magistrates’ court before magistrate Amirul Asyraf Rashid.
However, no plea was recorded as murder cases fall under the High Court’s jurisdiction.
Khoo was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death sentence or an alternative punishment of 30 to 40 years in prison and not less than 12 strokes of the rotan.
Klang Selatan police chief Cha Hoong Fong previously said a woman was found in a car after being stabbed to death in Klang on Dec 18. - FMT
