KUALA LUMPUR: The government is currently exploring the proposal to establish an international commercial court in Malaysia, law and institutional reform minister Azalina Othman Said said.
In a Facebook post, Azalina said the proposal was discussed during her meeting with Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat and representatives of the judiciary at the Palace of Justice today.
She said the initiative was aimed at making Malaysia one of the preferred destinations in the region for the resolution of commercial law disputes.
“It also enhances the confidence of foreign investors in our country, in line with the government’s (Madani) agenda,” she said. - FMT
