KUALA LUMPUR: A “political observer” was among six men arrested after a fight at a restaurant in Taman Midah, Cheras, early yesterday.
Cheras police chief Zam Halim Jamaluddin said the suspects, aged between 30 and 40, were arrested around Cheras at about 9pm yesterday.
“A preliminary investigation showed that the fight was caused by dissatisfaction over a post uploaded by the victim (the political observer) on social media,” he said.
The victim was eating with two friends at at about 4am when the fight occurred.
“Six men appeared and began throwing chairs at the victim and his friends.
“The victim tried to deflect the blows. After that, the men immediately left.”
Zam said the suspects were remanded for two days from today under Section 148 of the Penal Code, which deals with rioting. - FMT
