If PM picks me to be minister, I will be grateful to God - Hulu Langat MP

 Amanah lawmaker Mohd Sany Hamzan has hinted that he would not turn down an opportunity to serve as the new domestic trade and cost of living minister if given the offer.

Speaking to reporters in Ipoh, the Hulu Langat MP said the decision lies in the hands of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Amanah has submitted the names of at least two potential replacements for the position.

The minister post has been vacant since the death of former Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub four months ago.

“We don’t know when the appointment is, just that we’re told it will be soon.

"Amanah has submitted names to fill the position and now it is up to the prime minister to decide," Sany (above) said.

It is unclear whether other government parties have also submitted candidates’ for Anwar’s consideration.

Sany did not reveal the names submitted but quipped that he could also be in the running to enter the cabinet.

"I heard Hulu Langat’s name among being 'loudly’ mentioned.

“If PM (Anwar) appoints me (as minister), I express gratitude to Allah,” the Amanah central committee member was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian after officiating the Perak Amanah Youth convention earlier today.

On Friday, Anwar intensified speculations surrounding a potential cabinet reshuffle by year-end, aside from replacing Salahuddin's position, now temporarily assigned to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Armizan Mohd Ali.- Mkini
