PUCHONG: Initial findings suggest that cracks in the monsoon drain were the underlying cause of a landslide that occurred last Saturday on Jalan Wawasan in Taman Wawasan, affecting nine houses, Selangor infrastructure and agriculture committee chairman Izham Hashim said.
He said the cracks in the monsoon drain on the slope caused water to seep through, resulting in the soil becoming saturated and a slope failure occurring.
However, a consultant will be engaged to look into the matter, he told reporters after visiting the site today.
Izham said the drain will be repaired to prevent water from pooling in the landslide area.
He also said the first phase of piling is expected to be completed on Sunday.
Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han said the piling in the lower section will commence after work on the upper section is completed. - FMT
