PETALING JAYA: The daughter of a banker killed in a road rage incident four years ago is still pining for her father.
Syed Danial Syed Syakir’s widow, Qistina Ayu Rozhan, says their four-year-old daughter still asks for him, Bernama reported.
“She only knows daddy is in heaven.
“But it doesn’t stop her from asking why he is not with us, especially when she sees other children with their fathers,” she was quoted as saying.
Qistina, who is also a bank manager, said this when reading out her impact statement before the High Court sentenced Yew Wei Liang to 16 years in prison for causing Syed Danial’s death.
She said she also suffered from depression after the 2019 incident, adding that rage and misunderstanding had led her to lose a husband, and her daughter, a father.
She also said she was traumatised every day when driving to work as she had to pass the exact spot where her husband was “mercilessly killed”.
“The pain is unbearable and (also to be) called a single mother and having to care for my child since then,” a teary-eyed Qistina said.
Earlier today, the Shah Alam High Court sentenced Yew, a former IT consultant, to jail after he was found guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder on Tuesday.
He was previously charged with murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code after repeatedly running into Syed Danial on the North-South Expressway in Bandar Baru Bangi on Aug 10, 2019, resulting in his death at the scene. - FMT
