PETALING JAYA: The two policemen arrested over the alleged rape of a student and robbery of another will be charged tomorrow afternoon.
In a statement, Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the duo would be together charged with extortion, while one of them would be charged with rape and carnal intercourse against the order of nature.
The policeman being charged with rape and carnal intercourse will also be charged with sexual assault of a minor.
They have both been slapped with immediate suspensions, added Hussein.
On Jan 11, FMT reported that two policemen had been arrested, including one suspected of raping a foreign college student, in Ampang, Selangor, on Jan 9.
This followed two reports related to the incident from the two alleged victims, both 18 and studying at a private college.
Hussein said the two uniformed policemen had detained the female victim and a male Malaysian student at Bukit Ampang at 10.09pm over an alleged traffic offence.
He said the policemen separated the students and brought them to different locations, where one of the policemen then allegedly raped the woman.
The other policeman brought the male victim to a bank and demanded that he withdraw money so he could pay for the traffic offence.
The two suspects were later arrested and remanded for seven days. - FMT
