DAP hopes Harapan-BN cooperation will last until GE16

 

DAP hopes the cooperation between Pakatan Harapan and BN will last until the 16th general election, said its secretary-general Anthony Loke.

"We are already working together in the coalition government, and every component party must cooperate sincerely.

"We take heed of the decree by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to cut down on politicking and focus on efforts to develop the country.

"In that spirit, we (Harapan and BN) will make efforts to further strengthen the government, and hope it (the cooperation) will last until GE16," Loke, who is also transport minister, told a press conference at his ministry in Putrajaya today.

He was earlier asked whether DAP will work with BN in GE16.

BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi recently said Harapan-BN cooperation should last beyond GE16.

He cited Harapan ceding the Perak MB seat to BN as an example of Harapan's sincerity.

"This sincerity is what bound us. Harapan could have claimed the Perak MB-ship but it gave the mandate to BN.

"If we can uphold this sincerity, we can ensure the party (Umno) grassroots work toward regaining support," the Umno president-cum-deputy prime minister was quoted telling BH Online.
