PETALING JAYA: Four men and three women were arrested by the police over the death of a disabled woman in Seri Kembangan at the weekend.
Serdang police chief AA Anbalagan said the police received an emergency call from a woman at 12.12am on Sunday, saying her 20-year-old sister had died.
“The deceased was beaten with a long stick and repeatedly scalded with an iron,” Anbalagan said in a statement.
He said the suspects, aged between 25 and 79, were arrested at 4pm that day.
Anbalagan said the police believed that the victim, who held a disabled card, was killed because she had scolded and pinched a three-year-old boy and his two-year-old sister, who are the children of one of the suspects.
He also said the woman was in the care of the houseowner, one of the suspects, who was paid RM200 a month by the victim’s mother to take care of her because she was unemployed and had a learning disability.
Anbalagan said the body was taken to Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem.
He said four of the suspects have been remanded for seven days until Jan 28, and the others released on police bail. - FMT
