KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan statistics department aims to get 1.2 million residents in the state registered with the Central Database Hub (Padu) system within the stipulated three-month period.
Its director, Fareza Mohamed Sani, said the system has received encouraging response since it was made available to the public on Tuesday through the digital economy centres (PEDi) across the state.
“Since the launch, there has been widespread awareness of the need to register, and the number of registrants has consistently increased.
“Based on this, we are optimistic that most of the 1.2 million eligible residents will register,” he said after observing the Padu registration process at the Padang Tembak PEDi here today.
Fareza said the statistics department will continue to monitor the situation and ensure seamless registration for all eligible individuals.
“We will conduct on-site visits to facilitate registration and information updates for the disabled and elderly in their homes,” he said.
Padu combines data from government departments and agencies, and contains individual and household profiles of Malaysian nationals and permanent residents.
Registration is open to the public from today until March 31, and users may update and confirm 39 personal details, including identification numbers, number of household members and their addresses. - FMT
