PETALING JAYA: A convicted paedophile has been sentenced to 40 years in jail and 21 strokes of the rotan after he pleaded guilty in Kuching to three charges of producing and preparing child pornography.
The sessions court in Kuching was told that Alladin Lanim, 43, had recorded videos and taken photos of himself performing oral sex on a 10-year-old boy after giving the boy a phone on which to play games.
The prosecution said the boy’s younger brother, aged nine at the time, was made to witness Alladin’s actions, according to the Borneo Post.
Alladin is already serving time until 2032 for several different sexual offences involving children. He also faces further charges for similar cases involving other underage victims.
He was identified in a 2019 multi-national police report as one of the 10 worst child exploitation offenders in the world, following a two-year investigation by Australian authorities which led to his arrest in 2021.
Alladin, 43, admitted to two charges of producing child pornography in the form of videos and photos from his mobile phone. He further admitted using a boy in the preparation and production of pornography.
The three offences were committed at a house in Lundu, Sarawak, between August 2018 and December 2020.
Alladin was sentenced to 22 years in jail and 10 strokes of the rotan for the first charge, five years’ jail and three strokes for the second, and 13 years and eight strokes for the third charge.
Judge Iris Awen Jon ordered that the jail sentences run consecutively beginning today.
Deputy public prosecutor Ruvinasini Pandian said Alladin was found with 7,371 photos and 2,541 videos of the victim and several other children in his possession.
He was arrested when police raided a house on July 5, 2021, and found child pornography on his phone. - FMT
