The motorcycle went past policemen stationed at traffic cones marking the Standard Chartered Marathon route and collided with the two participants.

Kuala Lumpur traffic police chief Zamzuri Isa said a preliminary investigation found that the 21-year-old motorcyclist and his 19-year-old pillion rider had crossed a marathon route marked by cones.
Policemen on duty instructed the rider to stop, but he allegedly tried to flee by riding against traffic before colliding with the two runners.
“A 50-year-old female participant sustained an injury to her neck and is receiving treatment at Prince Court Medical Centre, while another 41-year-old male participant sustained injuries to his right knee and hand.
“The rider’s initial alcohol screening returned a positive result, with a blood alcohol content reading of 164mg/100ml,” Zamzuri said in a statement.
The rider and pillion rider were taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for further tests, including blood and urine samples.
The motorcyclist has been remanded for three days from today until Monday, while the pillion rider has been remanded for two days until tomorrow.
Zamzuri said the case is being investigated for driving under the influence and voluntarily obstructing a public servant in the discharge of his duties.
