The drivers of the motor loader and the lorry were also injured in the incident, which occurred at about 10.30pm.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Alzafny Ahmad said the 42-year-old JPJ officer who died suffered head injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene.
His 32-year-old colleague, who also suffered severe injuries to his head and several parts of the body, is receiving treatment at Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital, Seremban.
“An initial investigation found that the two Negeri Sembilan JPJ personnel were inspecting a motor loader carrying a cabin load on the emergency lane when a lorry laden with dry food products approached them from behind.
“However, the lorry lost control and failed to avoid the vehicles, crashing into the rear of the JPJ car and the motor loader,” he said in a statement today.
