The 17.88kg of cannabis was reportedly found in his luggage at the airport.

The suspect was detained last Friday after arriving on a flight from Dubai at 3pm, reported Mauritius news portal Defi Media.
Officers seized the suspect’s mobile phone, along with 8,150 Mauritian rupees (about RM700) in cash as well as Malaysian and Thai currencies.
The news portal also reported that police attempted to identify the intended recipient of the drugs by replacing the seized substances with dummy packages in a sting operation.
However, the sting operation failed when nobody turned up to collect the packages.
This is the second arrest of its kind this year involving a Malaysian in Mauritius.
On Sept 15, a 76-year-old Malaysian was arrested at the same airport after arriving from Kuala Lumpur.
Authorities seized 6.18kg of cannabis worth 9.27 million Mauritian rupees (RM793,000) from his luggage. - FMT
