Azmin to meet Guan Eng on snap polls

PKR deputy president Azmin Ali is expected to meet Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng in Komtar this afternoon.
It is learnt that Azmin would brief Lim on PKR’s stand on holding a snap polls in the state.
Malaysiakini understands that Azmin, who is also Selangor menteri besar, is accompanied by PKR’s election directors Saifuddin Nasution and vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar.
Lim, who claims to be a victim of political persecution, is expected to hold a press conference after the meeting, and speculation is rife that he might announce the dissolution of the state assembly.
Yesterday, PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the party is still unconvinced on the need to hold a fresh polls, which is touted as a referendum for Lim in view of his twin corruption charges.
Lim, who claims to be a victim of political persecution, is expected to hold a press conference after the meeting.
Meanwhile, Penang DAP parliamentarians and assemblypersons have also been allegedly instructed to attend a meeting in Komtar regarding the possibility of snap polls.
Sources claimed that the notice was sent out to DAP representatives only, without the involvement of other Pakatan Harapan elected members in PKR, or Parti Amanah Negara.

Several PKR assemblypersons said they did not receive the notice, while DAP representatives are tightlipped about the purported meeting.
Speculation is rife that snap polls in Penang may be on as the DAP central executive committee had allegedly decided on the matter.
Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, was supposed to brief PKR about the matter in Kuala  Lumpur last night but did not attend the meeting.

His political secretary Wong Hon Wai has confirmed the meeting with PKR representatives - Mkini
