The police are expected to interview Umno Youth vice-chief Khairul Azwan Harun over his allegation of a high-level conspiracy to topple Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and the government.
"I was told that he will be coming tomorrow (to give his statement)," inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar told a press conference this evening in Putrajaya.
In his police report filed on Tuesday, Khairul named recently retired Bank Negara governor Zeti Akthar Aziz, outgoing Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Abu Kassim Mohamed and ex-attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail.
He said the three were suspected of providing confidential information to foreign agencies, including the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), without authorisation.
Khairul also alleged that some of the documents submitted were falsified and the information twisted to achieve their agenda.
The report came in the wake of the United States Department of Justice filing civil suits related to the alleged abuse of 1MDB funds, which contained a slew of damning claims.
