Former prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi reminded Umno today that it would face problems in the 14th general election if it did not resolve its current conflict.
"If it doesn't want to make any effort, it will be difficult," the ex-Umno president told reporters in Kuala Lumpur.
Abdullah said this when asked if the party's ongoing struggles would threaten BN's fate in the next national polls.
However, when asked if he felt Umno was starting to become "shaky", Abdullah shot back: "How do you know it's shaky?"
Asked to comment on the sackings of senior Umno leaders, Abdullah said fighting among one another would not solve any problems.
"Everyone's fighting non-stop, what's going to happen?" said the country's fifth prime minister.
Umno sacked its deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin and former Kedah menteri besar Mukhriz Mahathir following their criticisms of party president and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
