Portfolio change won't affect Sarawak autonomy talks - Nancy

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nancy Shukri said the recent change of her portfolio does not affect discussions on the devolution of powers from the federal to the Sarawak government.
"Sarawak is very well prepared and have all the things that they want to present to the federal government. I don’t think that will affect them, but I must appreciate all those comments even from the opposition to show that we are all concerned about Sarawak
"I still have my role over that side, I'm still the minister to oversee matters for Sarawak devolution.
"It has been decided by the cabinet, there is no withdrawal, there is no termination or anything," she told reporters when met at a Hari Raya open house, Kuching today.
She said this in response to Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen's statement that the change in her portfolio was a setback to the Sarawak autonomy movement.Nancy also dismissed any thought that with the recent change in her portfolio, the federal government tried to put aside Sarawakians.

"Please let us move forward because it is also something good for Sarawak. Let us move forward to do something that we can use, can tap with and I have had in mind what I want to do especially in social innovation.
"I think social innovation is something that we need to embark on. I hope that I can start something on Sarawak as well," she said.
Nancy said it was a good move because it showed that the government had confidence in us.
