WHY WE NEED ZAINUDDIN MAIDIN WITH THE ANC

mt2014-corridors-of-power
Zainuddin Maidin a.k.a. Zam is either stupid or he thinks we are. He just came out with a moronic statement that will make even morons blush. Zam is telling us that it is Mahathir who is using DAP and not DAP that is using Mahathir. And yet Lim Kit Siang tells Mahathir what to do.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Zainuddin Maidin a.k.a. Zam, the Anti-Najib Campaign’s (ANC) ‘information minister’, is what Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s strategist, Syed Akbar Ali, would normally call a moron (everyone is a moron to Syed Akbar). But then what would you expect from someone like Zam who told Aljazeera that Malaysia has erections once every five years — hence that proves Malaysia is a democracy.
What Zam said, as reported by Free Malaysia Today (see below), can only come from someone who is either stupid or someone who thinks we are. When it comes to Zam I believe it is a combination of both. He is both stupid and thinks we are as well.
One good thing about Zam’s statement, though, is that it reveals that the Mahathir-led ANC is now on the defensive and is trying to explain their actions. This means they must have received feedback that the ANC’s love affair with the DAP-led Pakatan Harapan is backfiring and they are now panicking. So Zam wants it to look like it is the Mahathir-led Malays and not the DAP-led Chinese who are calling the shots in the opposition coalition.
Zam cannot see that Mahathir is being played for a sucker. While Anwar Ibrahim says he welcomes Mahathir’s new party and the new opposition coalition, his wife, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, says they will not commit themselves but will look and see first. And it is Wan Azizah and not Anwar who is the opposition leader.
Then PAS says they will consider working with Mahathir’s new party and new coalition but only after the old man announces that he supports PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang’s private member’s bill on the Syariah amendments. So what does Mahathir do now? If he supports Hadi’s bill he dies and if he does not support he also dies. Both ways sure die one.
It was Mahathir who elevated the level of the Syariah Courts to be at par with the civil law courts. So if he now does not support the Syariah Amendment Bill how does he explain that? Is he saying he regrets the ‘mistake’ of elevating the level of the Syariah Courts to be at par with the civil law courts? He says that he also dies.
Mahathir knows he can only do what DAP will allow him to do, which means oppose that so-called ‘Hudud Bill’ — although that is a lie because it is not a Hudud Bill. And Zam claims that Mahathir is not DAP’s running dog? Then why does Mahathir do only what DAP wants him to do?
“If Ibrahim Ali and Lim Kit Siang come together under the leadership of Mahathir, there will be a new form of politics in the country,” Zam said. Zam is using Ibrahim Ali and Lim Kit Siang as the yardstick to demonstrate how brilliant Mahathir is.
The Chinese hate Ibrahim Ali while the Malays hate Kit Siang. The Chinese will celebrate the day Ibrahim Ali dies as will the Malays the day Kit Siang dies as well. Using Ibrahim Ali and Kit Siang as ‘good examples’ is like giving a speech to the Jews and saying that Germany is great because of what Hitler did.
Zam is what Malays would call bodoh sombong — sudahlah bodoh, sombong pulak.
If Mahathir and not Kit Siang calls the shots in the DAP-led Pakatan Harapan, then ask Kit Siang to apologise to Hadi within 24 hours for all the nasty things and lies they said about the PAS President, and announce that PAS is invited to join the new coalition with no strings attached and that they respect the right of PAS to pursue its Islamic agenda.
If they can’t do this then I suggest Zam go out and buy a gun and put a bullet through his own brain. And that is why we need Zam with the ANC. He is just like DAP’s ‘Superman’ — the more he opens his mouth the more he helps Barisan Nasional.

Zam: Umno can no longer demonise Mahathir
Former editor says new opposition front will end prejudices fostered by Umno propaganda, and if Ibrahim Ali joins, it will end talk of DAP being a Chinese-chauvinist movement.
(Free Malaysia Today) – Umno can no longer demonise former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad on the basis that he is co-operating with the DAP, according to former editor and minister Zainuddin Maidin.
Zainuddin said the unification of Malay and Islamic political forces, under a new opposition front headed by Dr Mahathir, would clear him of prejudices linked to his co-operation with DAP.
Dr Mahathir announced on Thursday that he was setting up a new party, which would seek a grand alliance of opposition parties.
Zainuddin (“Zam”), a former chief editor of Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia, said Umno has so far exploited the Mahathir-DAP link to inflame the Malay masses against the former premier.
“Umno used Mahathir’s co-operation with DAP to paralyse the movement to oust Najib Abdul Razak as Prime Minister,” he wrote in his blog.
Taking his cue from Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali’s decision to return to politics in the wake of Mahathir’s announcement, Zainuddin said: “It will provide great moral backing for Mahathir although Ibrahim didn’t announce that he will join his new party.”
However, he was present at Mahathir’s meeting with leaders of DAP, PKR and Amanah on Friday.
Zainuddin said Mahathir’s objective was not to return as Prime Minister. “He remains committed to replacing Najib as prime minister. Mahathir wants a prime minister whose integrity won’t be questioned by the international community.”
He has stated he had no intention of being a candidate at the next general election.
“This, by itself, will demolish the prejudice against him based on the Umno propaganda that he wants to return as Prime Minister.”
He said that if Ibrahim joined Mahathir’s new party, the logical consequence would be that DAP would be seen as not being a Chinese chauvinist movement, and Mahathir not seen as selling out Malay interests to the Chinese.
“If Ibrahim Ali and Lim Kit Siang come together under the leadership of Mahathir, there will be a new form of politics in the country,” said Zainuddin, as Perkasa represented a large number of former Umno members.
Zainuddin believed that Mahathir’s new front would be more stable than that forged by Anwar Ibrahim who brought DAP and PAS together in Pakatan Rakyat.
“Anwar almost succeeded in forging a new form of political co-operation,” said Zainuddin, but Anwar failed on two counts:
He underestimated Mahathir’s greater ability to maintain Umno’s political strength and ensure that the economy continued to remain strong; and Anwar was under a moral cloud perceived to be “dirty” and unacceptable.
However the new Mahathir political front will have leaders of calibre, credibility and proven leadership qualities, compared with those in Umno and Barisan Nasional, said Zainuddin.
He believed that Umno and BN would be in distress if PAS and Amanah come together in the new Mahathir-backed political front, and PAS was already seeking to mend fences with Amanah, formed by professionals and moderates who broke away to form their own party last year.
