PETALING JAYA: Police are investigating a claim against a Sepang police sergeant who allegedly harassed and blackmailed a man.
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said he was aware of the allegation but could only comment after he had obtained more facts, The Star reported.
“We need to be fair to both sides. Investigations have begun based on the allegation and it is being handled by the state police contingent,” he was quoted as saying after a Merdeka Ride event in Shah Alam today.
Hussein added that a press release regarding the matter would be issued soon.
In a TikTok video posted yesterday, a man claimed that a police sergeant from the Sepang district police headquarters had “blackmailed” him after a person filed a report against him over a purported car sale.
The man alleged the sergeant had conspired with the complainant and destroyed evidence in the case before seizing his belongings and charging him in court.
He also claimed that the sergeant was later caught committing khalwat (close proximity) with the complainant by the Selangor Islamic religious department at a condominium in Cyberjaya. - FMT
