If you are a tech buff here is some exciting news. The Russians have been developing the MIG41 jet for some years (since 2000s, continuing from the MIG 31 of the 90s).
The MIG41 is a stealth interceptor aircraft / heavy fighter. It will be a stealth aircraft but the main outstanding features will be its speed (Mach 4.5, faster than any other known jet fighter or anti aircraft missile in the West) plus its operating ceiling - it will operate at 45,000 meters or 148,000 feet (four times higher than commercial airlines) and maybe at near space.
It can shoot down hypersonic missiles and also satellites in space and it may have laser weapons (but the range is not known).
The plane was scheduled for first flight in 2025 but it looks like it has been brought forward. According to this video here the first plane (beyond prototype) will fly this year.
When the MIG41 comes into full operations in a couple of years it will not just be a game changer but it will be game over. No one in the west has anything even close to this ramjet engine plane.
The Chinese are close behind though with their own hyper-plane.
Here is a bit more trivia from the Chinese - their fourth aircraft carrier is now under construction and reports are leaking out that it will be 120,000 tons !! That is quite insane. The largest American aircraft carrier USS Gerald Ford is 1000 feet long and weighs 100,000 tons. The Chinese carrier is going to be 20% larger than that.
