Vote wrongly and you'll end up like Kedah - Anwar warns Selangorians

 

STATE POLLS | Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has cautioned Selangorians that the state will end up like Kedah and Kelantan if Perikatan Nasional wins the upcoming state election.

Speaking to a 2,000-strong Chinese majority crowd in Sepang last night, the Pakatan Harapan chairperson said voters should vote for the Harapan-BN combo to show that Selangor belongs to all races.

"I want Selangor voters to show Bersatu and PAS that this state belongs to all races. Selangorians must prove that they are not stupid. PN can 'buy' one or two people, but they can't buy all.

"They (PN) say they have Gerakan to represent the Chinese. I wonder if Gerakan is still alive?" Anwar said at a ceramah in Tanjung Sepat.

"If you make a mistake in voting, you will end up becoming like Kedah. Make another mistake, and you will become like Kelantan."

Anwar did not elaborate on what he meant by Selangor becoming like Kedah and Kelantan.

Also present were Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, Deputy Finance Minister II Steven Sim, Harapan's candidate for Tanjong Sepat Borhan Aman Shah, BN’s candidate for Dengkil Norazli Said, and Harapan's candidate for Sungai Pelek Lwi Kian Keong.

MIC members and representatives from the Orang Asli community were also seen gracing the event.

‘Don’t curse or swear’

Earlier, Anwar challenged PN to campaign by presenting the coalition's success when it administered the country.

"This is not the time to curse and swear at people. I urge (PN chief) Muhyiddin (Yassin) and PAS to talk about what they have done, and what they will do (if they win),” he said.

The election in six states on Aug 12 will witness former rivals Harapan and BN join hands to battle PN at the ballot box. - Mkini
