STATE POLLS | BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has proposed that a BN-Pakatan Harapan administration in Kelantan would offer a 70 percent slash on land premiums.
The suggested amount was 20 percent higher than what the pact presented in its manifesto launched over the weekend.
He added that the pact should also consider offering a 70 percent discount on local government assessment tax and land taxes.
Zahid said this when speaking at the BN-Harapan rally in Kota Bharu last night.
"These discounts will help Kelantanese who want to build houses or own land. Even if (the government) cannot collect such taxes, we can collect taxes from industries when we bring in investments," he said, according to Sinar Harian.
At a separate rally in Tanah Merah last night, Zahid said a BN-Harapan administration in Kelantan will see an influx of investments which will in turn create jobs.
"We want to bring foreign investors to Kelantan because we want Kelantanese youths to work here. Therefore, we need to change governments," he added.
Zahid touted Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim as a leader who has shown fairness to Kelantan and has allocated a lot of federal funds for local infrastructure. - Mkini
