The sole Magnum outlet in Perlis has ceased operations, making it the third number forecast operator to close since the PAS-led state administration decided to stop renewing operating licences for gambling premises.
There are three more 4D outlets left in the northern state. These outlets would also close when their licences expire.
According to Guang Ming Daily, a notice on the Magnum outlet in Kangar read: “We regret to inform you that in compliance with the directive of the state government, this outlet will be closed effective Oct 5.
"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your support and understanding," it added.
Perlis is the fourth PAS-ruled state to stop issuing licences for gaming outlets after Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.
Kelantan and Terengganu had imposed the ban in 1990 and 2020 whereas Kedah brought the curtain down on 45 gaming outlets starting this January.

In June, Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli said the operators were provided with sufficient time to venture into other businesses.
He also dismissed the risk of illegal bookies mushrooming, saying that it is the responsibility of the police to crack down on such operations.
According to the menteri besar, “we shoulder the sins for approving the licences as Muslims and will be held accountable before Allah in the afterlife”.
Earlier today, Malaysiakini reported that the Kota Setar Land and District Office and Alor Setar City Council (MBAS) will no longer issue licences for new massage parlours to operate.
In a notice on the MBAS Facebook page, Alor Setar mayor Mohd Yusri Md Baud said this was in accordance with a decision reached by the Kedah executive council on June 21.
The MBAS said that this was intended to curb immoral activities. - Mkini
